ESTHER BROMBERG Esther Bromberg passed away on October 4, 2009, at the age of 81. The funeral service was held on October 8 at Temple Shalom with burial at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Esther was the youngest child of Rudolph and Lena Kliffer. She was predeceased by her son Marshall in 1970, her husband Wilf Bromberg in 1982 and her second husband Lester Glantz in 2007. Esther is survived by her children Irvin, Linda, Kimberly and Pamela Bromberg; her grandchildren Rudy, Zev, Shira, Shimon, Leora and Serena Bromberg; her great-granddaughter Etta Bromberg; and many nieces and nephews. Esther loved being with people - she smiled warmly and was full of life and laughter. She was caring, kind and compassionate and had a genuine concern for others. She showed great sensitivity and consideration to others and had an unassuming grace that is rarely seen. Esther truly felt joy in life's triumphs, regardless of what disappointments came her way. She was active and full of interests: she loved classical music, reading, bridge, tennis, and getting together with family or friends. When she suffered the profound loss of her beloved son Marshall (at age 15), in her own quiet way Esther had an inner strength that allowed her to go on to be there for her other children. No matter what circumstances she faced, she was flexible and accepting. She never called out why me; there was no blame, no anger, no criticism, no self-pity. She did not like to dwell on negative things and was eternally optimistic. Even when she was told that she had a few weeks to live, she was not depressed, she did not complain and she made jokes at every opportunity! Esther's positive outlook was admired and respected by all who knew her. Her joy was truly a blessing in the lives of all the people she touched. She lives on in our hearts as a model and a light for us to follow. We thank her for everything!
