AILI AGNES RAUTAVUORI (nee OJA) 1929 2009 It is with profound sadness that we announce that after a brief illness, Aili passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 80 years. Remaining to forever cherish Aili's memory are her son William; loving daughter-in-law Sylvia and precious grandson Daniel; brother Tom (Ellen) of Marathon; sister-in-law Mona Oja (Thunder Bay) and Stella Oja (Marathon) and brother-in-law Hank Palo (Thunder Bay). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George; son Richard; parents Oscar and Maria Oja and siblings Aino, Helen, Arni, Steve and Allan. Aili loved her cottage at Betula Lake and spending winters in Texas with her late husband George. She also thoroughly enjoyed beating her son William at cribbage, making her prized Finnish pancakes for grandson Dan and talking on the phone with the daughter she never had , Sylvia. In compliance with Aili's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. Special thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital and Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of your choice.
