JOHN TIMCHISHEN November 21, 1919 - January 18, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dad with Ted and Kathy by his side. Dad was born in Rosenburg in 1919 to Nellie and Kost Timchishen. At an early age Dad went to work for the Weik family where he met his wife of 69 years, Elsie. Together their raised their four children on their farm in Arborg. Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman but most of all he was a farmer at heart. He was always the first to get his machines out, serviced and lined up along the field - ready to go. His thumb was green so his crops always flourished no matter what was seeded. Dad was predeceased by his parents, and his stepdad, Walter Walchuk as well as his brother Joe. He is survived by his children Harold (Nettie), Don (Diane), Shirley Yeske (Henry) and Ted (Kathy); siblings, Tilly, Ella, Jean, Morris, Nick, Harold and Tom; and grand-children, Sharlene, Wendy, Cherise, Kim, Darcy, Glen, Brad, Crystal, Carey, Chad and his best bud Michael; plus numerous great-grandchildren who he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 22 at the Arborg Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. Many thanks to the staff of the Arborg Personal Care Home for their incredible caring and thoughtfulness.
