ROBERT KEITH NEIL It is with a deep sense of loss that the family announces the passing of Keith Neil on January 28, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Keith was predeceased by his two elder brothers, Vernon and Lawrence. He is survived by his beloved wife Etna Christine Neil; and also by nephews, Ralph (and Bonnie), Laurie (and Jane); and by nieces, Barbara (and Tim) McCabe, Jennifer (and Rudi) Sagl and Deborah (and Marc) Saulnier. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him. Keith was born on July 9, 1924 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, son of John William and Lina May Neil. He grew up in Winnipeg, where his father worked at the Winnipeg Free Press, and joined the Navy for a short time in 1944 where he also played trombone in the band. He married his soul-mate Etna on July 11, 1953, and pursued a career in sales, including a rewarding 20 years of employment at Sears from which he retired in December 1984. Keith greatly enjoyed music, and took part in the music program at Grant Memorial Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Keith's family especially wishes to thank staff at the Health Sciences Centre for the excellent care they provided during the final months of his life. A memorial service will be conducted at the Thomson Funeral Home on Broadway in Winnipeg at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4.
