BERTHA (BELLA) POKRANT (nee Dreger) On March 21, 2010, Bertha Pokrant, aged 93, passed away peacefully at Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, with her family at her bedside. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Louis, on September 1, 1995, an infant daughter, and by six sisters and six brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her life and memory, daughter Valery (Larry) Czarnecki, son Hartley (Deb) Pokrant, her grandchildren, Avery and Angela Czarnecki, Justin Pokrant, and two sisters-in-law Annie and Myrtle Dreger. Mom was born April 6, 1916 in Morris, Manitoba. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family extends sincere thanks to the caring staff at Heritage Lodge where Mom lived for the last five years. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Pastor Carol Janke presiding.
