CATHERINE PRUSS (MELVILLE) February 27, 1924 - March 22, 2010 It is with deep sadness the family announces the unexpected but peaceful passing of Catherine Pruss (Melville) at the Arborg Districts Health Center on Monday, March 22, 2010. She was born in Port Glasgow, Scotland on February 27, 1924 and came to Canada in 1954 and moved to Fisherton, Manitoba. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Walter of 55 years, daughters Linda Coard (Rod), Colleen Bernier (Edward); two granddaughters Sheri Coard (Andy Mair) and Lindsey Coard (Szabi Toth); three great granddaughters; Kaitlyn Mair, Abigail Mair and Layla Toth. Catherine was predeceased by her parents William and Catherine; sister Jeannie; brothers William, James, Bertie, Jack and Sonny. Catherine's favourite pastime was Bingo and cards which she enjoyed immensely. The family extends their gratitude to the Arborg District Health Center nursing staff for being there for her. A sincere thanks to the Arborg Personal Care Home staff for their outstanding and compassionate care of the past year. She will be especially missed by Gudrun Sigurdson and Lilly, her bingo partner. Sincere thanks to the staff and home care workers at the Assisted Living (Mary Thorarinson Estates) for giving mom such special care. Special thanks to the Lady with the Heart of Gold Brenda Yarema. Thanks to all the residents for making her so welcome in their home. Mom took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to share stories and memories with them. She will be remembered for her kind and generous nature and her warm smile. Memorial service will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church with Father Paul Bisson officiating in Fisher Branch, MB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arborg Personal Care Home.
