Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCY THOMAS Peacefully, on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Red River Place Personal Care Home with her family by her side, Lucy was called home to be with her Saviour. Lucy was born July 26, 1926 in Balsam Bay, MB where she lived all her life. She was predeceased by her mother Maria; four brothers and one son. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Carl (Elsa) Orvis; two sisters Julia Patzer and Margaret Orvis (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews. Also a very dear aunt Florence Sinclair. Lucy enjoyed going to the day program for seniors. She made many different crafts including rug hooking. Lucy had a bubbly personality and a beautiful smile. She enjoyed sitting in the sunshine and watching the birds and squirrels. Lucy spent her last few years living at the Red River Nursing Home, where she met many new friends. We would like to thank all the staff and nurses for their care and kindness while she was there. Special thanks to the nurses who took the extra time and went that extra mile to make our sister feel special. You know who you are. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m. also in the chapel with Rev. Judy Whitmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Balsam Bay Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Keith Thomas, Trevor Thomas, Wayne Podjan, Mark Sinclair, Lawrence Patzer and Bill Thomas.
