JOZEF (JOE) BEDA March 9, 1940 - April 13, 2010 After a courageous and lengthy battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, Jozef (Joe) passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 70 years. Remaining to forever cherish Joe's memory are his beloved wife Alina, of 39 years of marriage; daughters Gabriella (Laszlo), Alenka (István), Gabryjela (Robert); son Peter; as well he will be forever treasured by his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews; countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Erzsébet Beda; and sister Klára. Joe was born in Zirany, Slovakia and immigrated to Canada in 1969 where he settled in Winnipeg and raised his family. He loved laughing, being with his family, having fun with friends enjoying the outdoors. Joe touched the lives of many people with his smile and maintained his trademark sense of humour all the way to the end. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave., with Rev. Fr. Geoffrey Angeles presiding. The family wishes to express special thanks to the doctors and the wonderful nurses on the 4th floor at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness, respect and compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to The Lung Association of Manitoba, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 1P6, or to a charity of your choice.
