LYNN LAWRENCE POERSCH Suddenly on the morning of May 2, 2010, Lynn Lawrence Poersch, aged 58, passed away at home on the farm in Brunkild. He is survived, loved and will be missed by many, his partner, JoAnne Reinsch, his mother Ruth Poersch and sisters Merrilin, Lorane (Chummy Plummer) and Lee-Anne. He was predeceased by his father Sandy Poersch. He leaves as well JoAnne's family, brothers, Rodney, Mark and Tim (Corinne) and many nieces and nephews and their families. Lynn will also be remembered by uncles, aunts, cousins and friends from far and wide. Born on April 16, 1952, Lynn grew up in Brunkild. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1973 with a Diploma in Agriculture. Following graduation, Lynn spent a year travelling and working in New Zealand. Upon his return home, he worked for a number of years with the family agri-business and on the farm. In 1978 he decided to further his education and returned to Red River College and graduated with a Diploma in Business Administration. Lynn then returned to what he loved most - farming, and continued to do so until his passing. Lynn served on council with the RM of Macdonald from 1989 to 1992 and during that term he also served on the Carman Hospital Board. To talk with Lynn once was to know him for a lifetime. Reminiscences of his distinctive drawl, his many theories, sayings and opinions and his sense of humour and practical jokes will be shared between friends and family for many years to come. He was an avid reader and freely shared his knowledge and advice with his friends and neighbours who would stop by the farm on a regular basis. The three coffee pots were always on and the fridge stocked, ready for the next farm meeting. Lynn enjoyed his travels with JoAnne that took them across Canada, most of the U.S., and throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. Lynn was a devoted and loving partner, a much beloved son and a rock for his sisters who knew they could always count on him. You were taken from us much too soon, you will be in our hearts forever. We love you, Lynn. Special thanks to everyone for their love and support, emails, phone calls and visits during this difficult time; also to the RM of Macdonald EMS team for their kindness and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
