GLADYS PUSHKA February 13, 1915 - April 18, 2010 Gladys Pushka (née Senko) was born near Lakedale, just north of Angusville, Man. In 1938, she married Fred Pushka. They had two children, Loretta and Wayne. After Fred suffered a fatal heart attack in 1956, Gladys ran the farm until her two children were grown, then moved to Winnipeg, where she worked in the garment industry until her retirement. Gladys lived in her own condominium in Winnipeg until she was 90, then moved to Saltspring Island, BC, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Paul Minvielle, and to be close to some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was 95 when she died. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Loretta; her son, Wayne (Patricia), of Burlington, Ont.; her grand-children, Michelle Muir (Ray), Aaron, and Robert (Barbara) Minvielle, all of Saltspring; Jason Minvielle, Regina, Sask.; Dean Pushka (Caryn), of Grimsby, Ont., and Wayne (Jane) and Andrea Pushka, both of Toronto; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral was held on Saltspring Island on April 23. A memorial Mass will be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Angusville, Man., at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest a donation in Gladys's memory to the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Angusville.
