Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPERCY THOMAS TINLING 1918 - 2010 It is with great sadness the family of Percy Tinling announces his passing on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age 91 years. Percy was predeceased by his parents Eric and Rebecca, son Ron, brothers Stan and Charlie. Left to mourn and cherish his memory is his loving wife of 32 years, Helen, son Charlie (Judy), step-son Ted (Robin) Nickel, sisters Marge and Mae, grandchildren Kimberley (Peter), Bryan (Cindy), Heather and Craig (Heather), great-grandchildren Joshua, Matthew and Kaytlyn, numerous extended family members and friends. Percy fought bravely during the Second World War as a tailgunner in the RCAF and was honored with wartime medals for his contribution. Percy belonged to the Masonic Lodge. He was a postal carrier for Canada Post for 25 years, retiring in 1983, prior to this he owned his own Taxi Cab in Winnipeg. Helen and Percy spent 20 winters as snowbirds in Texas, creating many friends and lasting memories. He loved spending time on the golf course, playing bridge and square dancing. Percy spent years improving the family cottage at Trout Lake. One of his greatest passions was spending time with family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff on E5 at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Percy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Percy's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Visitation one-half hour prior. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
