DR. BOHUMIL PROCHAZKA (DR. BOB) It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved husband, father, grandfather (Deda) lost his battle with cancer on August 9, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents Ing. Bohumil and Josefina Prochazka, and nephew Mila Marek. He is survived by his wife Liba, his beloved son Petr, daughter-in-law Grazia, his two precious granddaughters Alessia and Alena whom he loved so very much and his brother-in-law Milos Marek (Hana), niece Rita (Jifi) and their children Marek and Tereza of the Czech Republic. Dad was born in Prague, Czech Republic on April 5, 1934. He graduated in Dentistry from Charles University in Prague where he met his future wife, Liba. The family immigrated to Canada in November 1968 settling initially in Calgary. Dad worked hard establishing himself as a dentist in Canada and moved the family to Virden in 1972. Here the family spent 12 wonderful years making many good friends. In 1984 Mom and Dad decided to move to Winnipeg. Dad continued to practice Dentistry in Winnipeg, Selkirk and Lac du Bonnet until his retirement in 1997. In Winnipeg Dad met many new and wonderful friends. Dad was always very generous. He loved his family, especially his two granddaughters. They were his pride and joy. Dad loved golfing, tennis, swimming, travelling, biking and walking. He also enjoyed discussing politics with Grazia. Over the last few years he took great pleasure in helping Petr and Grazia build their cottage. Recently, he had many great times enjoying coffee with Mom and their group of friends at Tim Hortons in Grant Park Shopping Centre. According to Dad's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, a donation may be made to a charity of their choice. We will always love you Dedo
