Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS PRENOVAULT 1916 - 2010 Peacefully, Denis Prenovault passed away September 5, 2010 at 94 years of age, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Germaine (née Alarie); his five children, Diane Moddemann (Felix), Julie, Marie Loewen (David), Paul (Marielle), Jean (Bernice), as well as 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Sr. Maria Prenovault snjm, Annette Pelletier and his brother Gérard. Born and raised in St. Boniface, Denis attended Provencher School and Collège St. Boniface. He joined the army in 1942 and was stationed overseas from 1944 to 1946. He returned to Winnipeg to work at the National Bank. In 1948, he began his career at Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant. He retired from CRA in 1980 to enjoy a busy retired life. Denis put his membership at St. Boniface Golf Club to good use and remained an active member until the age of 90. Other activities included gardening, cross-country skiing and travelling to warmer climates in the winter. He actively supported his wife in her responsibilities as treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary at Taché Centre. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Germaine and they settled in St. Boniface. He was a strong supporter of his family, actively participating in his children's activities as a hockey coach, as a member of various parent committees and as the organizer of the family holidays to Albert Beach, on camping trips, as well as several winter vacations. A man of strong faith, he was a lifetime member of the parish of St. Boniface Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Taché Centre (185 Despins St., Winnipeg, MB R2H 0L7) or to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the health care staff of 7A West at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 Cathedral Ave., St. Boniface. LeClaire Brothers in care of arrangements. 775-2220
