Date of Passing: Oct 01, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT VICTOR PORTER February 1, 1917 October 1, 2010 We sadly announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Albert was predeceased by his wife Marion (Mamie) in 1982, brother Ken, sister-in-law Helga, and special friend Mary Ostriznyk. Left to celebrate his long life are sons Wayne and Robert (Joan), grandchildren Virginia, John (Susan) of Michigan, Tamar, Greg (Monica), and Don (Chloe) and nine great-grandchildren. Dad was born and raised in Elmwood. After their marriage, Mom and Dad lived in Gunton, Manitoba before moving to permanently reside in Transcona. Dad was employed by CN and was a longtime member of the Transcona Legion. Albert will be fondly remembered by Chris Porter, Mary's extended family, Charlie and Tony, along with nephews, nieces and friends. The family wishes to thank doctors and staff of Park Manor Care Home and the Concordia Hospital. Honouring Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Interment was held at a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to a charity of choice, we are sure, would be greatly received.
