Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROMAN HASAJ Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on October 21, 2010 with his wife at his side, Roman passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Roman was born March 3, 1921 in the village of Toku near Ternopil, Ukraine. During the Second World War he was taken captive to work in Germany. Following the war, he moved to England where he married Ewhenija and they immigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in Winnipeg. Left to cherish Roman's memory are his wife of 63 years, Ewhenija; son Alex (Angie); granddaughters, Renata and Hilary. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Maria (nee Hladych); sisters, Tekla and Olena. Roman worked at various jobs as a woodworker and cabinet maker. He enjoyed making furniture for his home. He also enjoyed walking, reading, gardening and his apple trees. He was a member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating.
