ARTHUR NEIL RATSON June 27, 1954 - December 1, 2010 It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved husband and brother, Art, at 56 years of age. On November 4, 2010 Art was diagnosed with cancer and met this greatest final challenge with incredible dignity and courage. Being the organized and methodical individual that he was, he immediately made a list of all of the things that he wanted to accomplish. Although he was not able to complete everything on his list, he did marry his beloved Norma on November 28, 2010. Art is survived by his loving wife Norma, brother Howard, sister Jo-Ann Zuk (Kevin, Daren and Graham), stepdaughter Alicia Kossack (Dennis), stepsons Wayne Finch (Rhonda) and Paul Major (Gbemi), grandchildren Brooke, Shay and Preston; sister-in-law Maureen Burgher and children Latoya (Daniel) and Shanise. Art was predeceased by his parents Pearl and Sherman Ratson, grandparents Florence and Ben Chochinov, and Sarah and Aaron Ratson. Art worked many years in retail management but found his true passion in life working 17 years as an Employment Specialist for Premier Personnel. Art always had a big heart and took great pride in helping those less fortunate than himself. He encouraged people to see their abilities rather than their disabilities. Art had a unique gift to connect with a wide variety of people which enabled him to be so successful in his chosen career. We wish to thank all those for their caring and support during this difficult time. A celebration of Art's life will be held at the Temple Shalom, 1077 Grant Avenue on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. According to Art's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
