MARIE THERESA THOMAS It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marie Thomas, aged 77 years, of Stoney Point, MB. Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Saturday, December 4, 2010. Mom leaves behind her children Essie, Noni (Rick), Sam (Robin), Janette (Brad), Scott and Vince; grandchildren Dawn (Bob), Kerri-Anne, Rachelle, Tera-Lee, Lindsay, Brittany, Kerm (Dayna), Gord (Alyssa), James, Shane, Shawn and Quinn; great-grandchildren Anna, Riley, Wyatt, Claire, Tia, Halie and Kayden; sister Elsie; brother-in-law Billy and numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Mom leaves us to join her grandson Nolan; sons Len and Miles; sister Irene (Skinny); mother Elsie and our dad Ian. Mom loved being at the beach with her family and friends with the door always open for all. She loved jigging, singing and playing guitar, traveling, curling, visiting and her all time favourite bingo. We will all miss mom for her independence, strength, wittiness, humour, colourful language and instilling in all of us a true sense of family. Our mother was a mother to all, she fought a strong battle right to the end. We would like to thank all of the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Also our friends and family for their prayers and sharing in our grief. While mom will be sadly missed, she is now at peace. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined and we ask that you please make a donation to the charity of your choice in her name.
