WILLIAM (BILL) SECORD POZER It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Bill Pozer on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 81 years, with his special niece Kim Kennedy by his side. Left to mourn Bill's passing is his daughter Laura (Dave); grandsons Kevin and Scott; nieces Tad, Kim, Alison, Jennifer and Victoria; nephews Don and David; great-great-nieces Sophia and Jenelle; great-great-nephew Riley; as well as members of the McIntyre and Sparrow families; long-time friend Tom Sidebottom; the Thursday breakfast club; as well as many other relatives and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents Bill and Edith, and sister Edine. Bill spent his youth at the family farm in Vermette, Manitoba and kept history alive by recounting his tales to his young relatives. He and his great-niece Victoria spent many a late night conversing about his life on the BAR P ranch. He worked in the transportation management of oil products in Saskatchewan and did not retire until the age of 78. Bill was a dedicated member of Khartum Shriners for more than 50 years. He achieved the title of Provincial Grand Prior of Saskatchewan, the Scottish Rite, and the York Rite. A consummate gentleman and raconteur extraordinaire, Bill loved to laugh and always brought his audience with him. He was always ready with a joke to put everyone at ease. On Friday, December 10, 2010 Bill's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Shriner's Burn Fund or Masonic Foundation.
