SANDRA LEE POTTER (nee MURRAY) With her loving husband, daughter and son by her side, Sandra Potter passed away on December 19, 2010. Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her adoring husband, Adrian, daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Brett Magnus, son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Andrea Potter, and grandchildren Mitchell, Hannah, Katie, Cole and Reid. She will be missed by her sister Donna (Norman) and brothers Walter (Sue) and Jack (Lucille), Adrian's brother Roderic (Mary Anne), and sisters, Moya (James), Jasmine (Mirko) and Yolanda (John), and their families. Sandra also has many other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly, especially Neil and Shirley MacKay and Ed and Pat Guest. Sandra was born on February 6, 1943 to Pauline and Ralph Murray, and spent her childhood years in the North End of Winnipeg. Sandra met the love of her life, Adrian, in junior high school, and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage. Sandra is, and will always be, the love of Adrian's life and his darling of darlings . They shared a beautiful life together enjoying many special times camping at Blue Lake, building the family cottage at Big Stone, sailing, traveling, walking up and down Corydon, and most of all, raising their family. Sandra was hardworking, dedicating herself to everything she undertook whether it was growing from a keypunch operator to becoming the manager of a real estate office, calmly managing rental properties, preparing meals for her family and friends, or meticulously decorating her home and wrapping gifts at Christmas. Her handmade angels will be a comforting reminder of the thoughtful care she put into everything she did. Sandra's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She loved us so much and was an unwavering source of strength and support. She loved her children and her grandchildren dearly and shared a special bond with her first grandson, Mitchell. Sandra cared for Mitchell when he was young and, in recent years, Mitchell has looked out for his Grandma. Sandra was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. We will always remember the loving home she provided and all the special times we shared at the lake. Mom's beautiful smile, her generosity, positive outlook, patient and loving nature will be cherished forever. We love you so much, Mom. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and families of The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, who cared for Sandra over the past ten years. Also, special thanks to the ER staff at the Victoria Hospital and the ER and ICU staff at St. Boniface General Hospital for the professional and compassionate care they provided Mom. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mom greatly enjoyed the friendship and support from the staff and volunteers at SAM . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to The Stroke Recovery Association of Winnipeg, Unit B - 247 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R2H 0G6.
