STEFAN SAVOIE Tragically and controlled by only his emotions, our son, Stefan has left us at the tender age of 21. Stefan had an inquisitive mind, quick wit and a very gentle soul. Always full of energy, Stefan had a mischievous streak which was apparent in his many practical jokes, choice of words and the animated way he expressed himself. Stefan was a gifted athlete who excelled in many sports including, soccer, hockey, basketball, badminton and volleyball. His greatest sense of pride was playing on the youth and junior National Volleyball Team for Team Canada. Stefan played each sport with fierce intensity and passion. He inspired his teammates with his competitive nature and determination. He was on the team to win. You wanted to be his teammate and not his opposition. Stefan gave of himself without hesitation, even if there was no benefit to himself in doing so. He made friends easily and once made, were his for life. Stefan is now together with his Omi enjoying her special noodles. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Sylvia, sister, Elyse, grandparents, Hans and Hannelore Wutschke and Aime and Ida Savoie, Uncle Gerry Wutschke, Uncle Denis Savoie (Diane Demare), Zoe, Aunt Jocelyn Savoie (Steve Young), Cameron and Joel as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We will miss him every day, especially his winning smile. A trust fund has been set up with the Winnipeg Police Credit Union for a future scholarship fund with the Manitoba Volleyball Association. A celebration of Stefan's life will be held at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church at Springfield and Gateway Road on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Rest In Peace Bano Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

To the Savoie family Earlier this week I was visiting Glen Eden Cemetery where my uncle's remains will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 4. I saw the niche with your son's remains and the urn etched with a volleyball player. I was struck by his handsome features and saddened by his young age. I want you to know that I was very moved and felt a desire to know about him, so I sought out this notice. Stefan was a remarkable young man. Please accept my sincere condolences for your profound loss and wishes that you will find solace in his memory. Nestor Golets - Posted by: Nestor Golets () on: Aug 02, 2012

You will be greatly missed, we weren't bffs, but we were buds, and you were one of the funniest, nicest people I knew. I'm still in shock you're gone. -Alesha Dyck, and Kevin Schaeffer <3 - Posted by: alesha (friend from Highschool) on: Jan 11, 2012

Dear Sylvia (and family). While I never met Stefan, he is clearly a very special young man. There are no words, of course, but only thoughts of comfort to you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Michael Ichiyama - Posted by: Michael Ichiyama (Co-Worker) on: Jan 08, 2011
