ANDREA LORRAINE POST (nee BRISBIN) October 25, 1958 - January 18, 2011 With her family by her side, Mom passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Mom (Nana, Nan, Andy, MoPo), will be deeply missed, loved and remembered by husband Barry; children, Jenna (Phil), Taylor and Mack; parents, Bill and Iris Brisbin (Papa and Umma); sister Jodie (Billy, Emma); brother Mike (Char), many other family and friends; and her pup Casey Jones. Mom's home was Winnipeg, where she grew up with her family, pursued a career in nursing, raised her own family, eventually became a stay at home Mom for us, and ran a home daycare where she raised many other children as if they were her own. Mom truly devoted her life to our family. She was always involved in everything we did. Whether it was taking us to dance, soccer, rugby, or track, volunteering, or just being a friend when we needed someone to talk to. She was, and always will be there for us. Mom appreciated the simple things. Walking Casey, being at the barn with Taylor, Casey and her horses, feeding the birds in our backyard, or with a glass of white wine with ice watching her favourite shows with all of us; it was the little things that mattered most to Mom. She will be missed at Sunday night dinners, on the dock at the lake, and the most at home, a place she made for us. Everywhere you look, it's Mom. Our family would like to deeply thank the absolutely amazing nurses, health care aids and doctors on the 5th Floor at the Women's Hospital. Thank you all for going above and beyond and for being a friend to our Mom and supporting our family when we needed it the most. We all miss you Mom. We will think of you and talk to you every day. You are not only our Mom and a wife to Dad but our best friend and an inspiration to us all. With respect to Andrea's wishes, we will not be holding a formal memorial service, however if friends so desire, donations may be made in her name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
