VERNA ANN PROULX (nee EASTON) January 1, 1935 February 13, 2011 Verna was called upon by the Lord. At home, with her family by her side, the angels peacefully carried her to heaven. Verna was born in St. Boniface, MB. She grew up in Ste. Anne, MB, where she met the love of her life (Oram). At the young age of 16, Verna moved to Winnipeg, where she worked at Eaton's in the mail order room and the restaurant. She married Oram in 1953 and lived in St. Boniface for a few years. They settled in Ste. Anne to raise their family. Verna was proud to be part of the growing community and she cherished being part of the St. Anne English Parish choir, prayer group, and Royal Canadian Legion Ste. Anne Branch...just to mention a few. She was predeceased by her mother Elsie Easton (1983), infant sister Delores, brother Robert (2008), and sister Merlyn (2011). She will be forever missed by her beloved husband Oram, daughter's Lynda (Robert), Valerie (husband Norman), Debbie (Ian), Darlene, son Sheldon (wife Lisa), 15 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jolly, Dr. C. Yaffe, Dr. Letockie (Michelle) and staff, Dr. Q. Doan (Germaine) South Eastman Health team, and a special thank you to Pauline Troff (home care), Pauline Gosselin and Anne Plett (palliative care) for their compassion and continued support. A celebration of Verna's life will be held Monday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Mass at 1:30 with Father René Chartier officiating, and interment to follow at the Ste. Anne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Verna's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

I miss you so much Grandma, I will never forget how you and grandpa took me in for those few months after my parents separated, the nights where I stayed up past my bedtime because I couldn’t sleep.. You would make me a peanut butter and jam sandwich and teach me how to play cribbage.. I was just 3 or 4 years old...
