Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD MICHAEL POLISTAC September 6, 1944 February 13, 2011 With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Gerald Michael Polistac, our beloved husband, brother, father, father-in-law and grampy/papa. Gerry is survived by his wife of 27 years Anne, sister Norma Docherty (Barry), sons Mike Polistac (Livia), Shawn Polistac, Richard Galvin (Andrea and their sons Jake and Oliver) and Robert Galvin (Kelly and their sons Macarthy, Hayden and daughter Grayson). Gerry grew up in Winnipeg but spent his last 40 years in Calgary. He lived his life with real joy and enthusiasm that enhanced the lives of his family and friends. He showed tremendous courage and determination in overcoming the challenges life presented him. His career was spent as a well-respected draftsman and cost analyst, skills that spilled over into his retirement years as he continued to tinker with numbers, hobbies and modifications to the house. His most recent passion was to build and fly a remote control plane. Throughout his life Gerry was drawn to the outdoors, discovering/exploring new places, trying new foods and travelling to many amazing countries. Over the past 10 years, he and Anne took particular joy in exploring this spectacular continent in their truck and camper. He cherished every minute looking after and playing with his grandchildren and socializing with family and friends. He was always eager to lend a hand or give advice to all - neighbours, friends and relatives. He leaves us with many wonderful memories. It was Gerry's wish that upon his passing his friends and family gather to celebrate his life through the sharing of stories, fond memories, laughter and perhaps a few tears. A celebration of Gerry's life will be held at Canyon Meadows Golf Club, 12501 - 14th Street SW on Sunday, March 20 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are also encouraged to contribute their memories and photos to memoriesofgerry@gmail.com. The collaboration will help foster a lasting memory for his grandchildren of the positive influence grampy/papa had on the important people in his life. If you wish, please make donations in his name to a charity of your choice or to PALS (Pet Access League Society), a charity dear to our hearts that honours our beloved pal Cody.

My belated condolences to the family. Gerry was in my grade 9 classroom. I lost track of him and then again at University of North Dakota where we connected again. When he attended now RRCC, he was popular and was president of it. Gerry had an outgoing personality. We spent a lot of time together at UND. Sorry to see him go. God Bless. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (school mate) on: Jul 15, 2021
