Actually I was a student, probably the winter of 1968-69. Marek was always talking about virtue (pronounced "veertue") and it stuck. My own friends and family are often asked "What's the virtue in that?" and it is a question I have made myself answer all my life. And yet he made the class laugh and we all looked forward to it. Lots of good memories of Marek. One of my favourites was when I complimented him about having such a great family. He replied with a straight face " Oh they are all arseholes". His mouth smirked enough to give away his pride in all of you. I hope the good memories ease the pain of your loss. Sorry we are travelling and will not be there in person.
