JANET S. THOMAS After a lengthy illness, Janet Thomas passed away peacefully at the age of 90 at the Victoria Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Survived by her children: Pam and Bill Unrau, Frank and Joan Thomas, Alyson and Glen Kennedy and Bill Thomas; grandchildren Kimberly and Brent Knickle and their children Cody and Kailey, Jeffrey, Jillian and Megan Thomas, Leah Kennedy and Jordan Kurbis. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family who fondly referred to her as Nana or Blanche . Janet had a passion for travelling and celebrated one of her final milestones in San Diego for her 90th Birthday. Janet's family would like to thank the multitude of people who allowed her to live a full and meaningful life in spite of challenging health issues. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Philip Garber, Dr. Jean Prenovault, the Victoria Hospital, the team from homecare, the wonderful staff at Real Care, the staff from both Lindenwood Manor and Riverwood Square and all the other health care professionals who have touched our lives. Janet was a strong, independent woman who encouraged her family to follow their dreams regardless of the challenges that they may face on their path to achieve them. She was one of the original war brides and her family truly admired her strength . She inspired us all. We love you Mom- Rest in Peace. Donations may be made in Janet's memory to Meals on Wheels.
