Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNEHEMIA AMY THOMPSON (nee Weiss) Peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2011 Amy Thompson surrounded by her loving family passed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Left to cherish Amy's memory are sisters Deena, Anne and Doreen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Lloyd (2008); only child, Diane (2007); sisters Esther, Delma; brothers Leonard, Elmer and Leslie. Amy was born in Winnipeg on November 27, 1920 to William Weiss and Matilda Stevens. She was a loving wife of 65 years to Lloyd and a devoted mother to her only child, her beloved daughter, Diane. She was a very kind, caring, loving, compassionate and religious person who cared for her parents and Aunt Olga. Amy also helped to raise her two nieces Donna and Wendy. She was affectionately loved by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and all that knew her. Everyone remembers the happy family Christmas Eve gatherings and times at the family home on Sherburn Street. A private family interment will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. D. Martin, the nurses and staff of the Grace Hospital 4N for their compassionate and tender care in Amy's final days. In lieu of flowers a donation in Amy's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
