ALICE OLIVE CORBETT (nee PATTERSON) On Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 Alice heard her Lord and Saviour say to her Come on home my child to the place that I have prepared for you and with much anticipation she left her temporary home here on earth and moved to her permanent home in heaven. Alice was born on March 18, 1916 and she was the second youngest of 13 children born to Joseph and Anna Patterson. She married Jim Corbett on June 26, 1940. Jim and Alice became an inseparable team and they loved, respected, and enjoyed one another for the rest of their lives. They were blessed with five children, 19 grandchildren and at last count, 45 great-grandchildren plus all those who married into the family. Despite the size of her expanding family, mom had a unique ability of making each one of them feel loved and special. Alice accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour as a young woman and continued to love and serve Him for the rest of her life. Her faith was quiet but sincere, and she modeled godliness for all that knew her. Her soulmate Jim predeceased her on May 2, 2002. While we will greatly miss her, we would not wish her back for a minute. She has gone home' to a far better place. We thank God for His gift to us - He knew exactly what we would need. A private family funeral and interment will be held on Friday morning. The family would like to invite family and friends to join them at a memorial service as they reminisce and celebrate Alice's life, and thank God for His faithfulness to us as family. This memorial service and reception will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, commencing at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011.
