JOHN REGINALD THOMAS 1924 - 2011 Quickly and peacefully on May 9, 2011 John Reginald Thomas passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He left to mourn his passing his loving wife of 67 years (on May 15th) Anne (nee Cline); his children, Dora (Alex) Cross, Jackie (Bob) Stenzil, Terry (Jan) Thomas, Blaine (Pat) Thomas, Gail (Willie) Monkman, Randy (Darlene) Thomas, Debbie (Marcel) Nicolas. He is lovingly remembered by his 16 grandchildren and his many great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his father Henry George Thomas and his mother Mary-Ann; brothers, Harold, Norman, Rueben, Gordon, Gerald, and sisters, Emily, Mildred, Phyllis, Florence, Dorothy and Mabel. He is survived by his baby sister Gladys Monkman and numerous nieces and nephews. John was a man of integrity who invested his life in his family, and in service to his Lord at Grace Chapel, where he was an elder for many years and Faith Bible Camp, as one of the founders and consistent and steady workers. He could be found at 6:00 a.m. most Saturday mornings during the spring months driving out to Faith Bible Camp with a car load of boys/men for a day of work. His consistency toward and commitment to his areas of passion were an inspiration to his family and everyone who knew him. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 Hwy 9A, Selkirk, MB, at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to service. Refreshments will follow the service, and interment will take place following the luncheon in the Balsam Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Faith Bible Camp.
