Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS JOSEPH PRIVE June 3, 1930 - May 30, 2011 Denis passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 80. He will forever live affectionately in the hearts of his loving wife Beatrice (née Nadeau); and children, Léona (Ron), Doris (Dave), René (Nancy), Danny (Denise) and Marie Louise. Denis received great joy and laughter playing and roughhousing with his numerous grandchildren (Louise, Joanne, Monique, Michelle, Jessica, Stéphanie, Aimée, Ashley, Justin, Jeremy) when they were little. Pépère was consistently approached with excited anticipation and giggles. He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren (Renée, Lindsay, Melissa, Amanda, Melinda, Kyle, Kody, Makayla) and his great-great-grandchild Emma. In addition to his parents, Henri and Desneige (Facette) Privé, he was predeceased by his sisters, Henriette and Margaret; and brother Marcel. He is survived by his brothers, Ubald (Shirley) and Wade (Sandy), many nieces and nephews and the Nadeau family, who considered him a brother. Numerous relatives and friends will remember Denis as someone who cared about others, was always there to help, enjoyed social gatherings, joking, teasing, eating, playing cards and having a good time. With his wonderful huge and gifted hands Denis crafted a career as a Welder. He worked with TransCanada Pipelines for many years both before and after his self-employment as a Pipeline Welder. Following his retirement from TransCanada, he continued to work as a Welding Inspector on many pipeline construction jobs. During his career he made many lifelong friends who trusted and respected him, knowing he always completed a job with careful thought and diligence. In retirement Denis enjoyed spending many hours fishing with family and friends and the occasional time hunting with his sons and grandsons. He continued working with his hands passing many hours in his garage cleverly fashioning items and engineering solutions to a variety of mechanical problems. The family would like to extend their appreciation and acknowledge with gratitude Dr. Garcia and the 3E ward staff (Riverview Health Centre), Dr. A. Leylec (CancerCare) and Olga (Palliative Care Program Nurse) for their compassionate care. Funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road on Friday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Renato Pasinato presiding. I know this comes many years after Denis has passed, but something came up in my life that made me think of my time at TransCanada Pipelines (I have many great memories) and I thought about the many great people whom I worked with, and especially about Denis. My main memory of him is the great big smile he seemed to always have….he was one of the most gentle souls I have ever known! You were a good man Denis…you still are!! So sorry to hear of the passing of our old neighbour. Though we only lived next door to them briefly, Denis and Beatrice were wonderful neighbours and we miss them. Our condolences to the family on Denis's passing. - Posted by: Sheryl & Craig Hill (Previous neighbours) on: Mar 06, 2012
