ALPHONSINE (AL) FOREST (Nee LACROIX) CHANGE OF SERVICE TIME It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Foyer Valade. Left to cherish Mom's memory are her children: Paul (Constance), Marc (Sheryl), and Diane (Michael) Chopek; her grandchildren: Danielle, Tessa, Sean, Ryan, Matthew, Samantha and Sara; siblings: Angele Bourbonniere, Jeanine Einarson, Charlie Lacroix; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gabriel and Marcelle, Rocky and Jean, Anita, Cathy, Louise and Rita as well as numerous nieces nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers: Gerard, Edmond, Georges Emile, and Lucien; sister Amelia; sisters-in-law: Rhea, Elsie, Annette, Anna and Cecile; brothers-in-law: Laurent, Jean-Paul, Georges and Robert; as well as her beloved husband Gerry on February 11, 1992. Mom was born to Avila and Josephine Lacroix on September 5, 1923 in Ile-des-ChĂȘne. She married Gerry on August 2, 1943 and had three children. Mom was a woman ahead of her time not only bringing up a family but also working whether running small family restaurants with Gerry or having a successful career in real estate. The kitchen was always open for family and friends with homemade soups, pies, cakes and lots of shrimp. When Dad retired they proceeded to enjoy life by travelling the four corners of the world experiencing different foods and culture. When it was time to relax it was Mexico that they called home in the winter. In keeping with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating her life will held on Monday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vital Catholic Church 1629 Pembina Hwy. The family would like to give a big thank you to the staff on the 3rd floor of Foyer Valade for taking care of our mother for the last five years. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J.
