Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL PUNDICK October 2, 1928 - July 2, 2011 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Michael Pundick, our father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mike passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on July 2, 2011. Mike was predeceased by our mother and his loving wife Greta in 1994. He is survived by his son David and wife Nancy, daughter Janet and husband Michael, and his four grandchildren Holly, Connor, Emily and Teix whom he loved so much. He is also survived by his brothers Nick and George, and sisters Kay and Rose. Dad was born and raised on the farm near Two Hills, Alberta. After high school he attended the University of Alberta, where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree, becoming a CGA. After university, Mike headed east, settling in Ottawa, Ontario where he began his distinguished 37 year career with the Federal government. It was in Ottawa that he met and married Greta, the love of his life, and partner of 29 years. He was transferred to Winnipeg in 1973 where he managed the finances for Manitoba's airports until retirement. Mike was a devoted husband and father. Having been raised in the lean 1930s, his focus was to provide for his family and give them everything they would need. He did that. Whether it was sports, travel, or most important to dad, education, he gave his love, encouragement, time and finances to make it happen. We never went without. You were a great dad, and grampy. You will be missed and never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity close to your heart. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
