Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES WARREN (DUBYA) HOBBS February 9, 1964 - August 11, 2011 It is with heart-breaking sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Warren on August 11, 2011 at the age of 47, at the Health Sciences Centre with his loving family at his side. Warren was predeceased by his parents, Patricia and Ken Hobbs, as well as his brother Reginald. He is survived by Cindy, his devoted wife and soulmate of 22 years; his sons, Morgan (14), Walker (12); his sisters, Sharon (Gord), Darlene (Len); and his brother Blaine (Eunice). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends too numerous to name. Warren was born and raised in Sioux Lookout, Ontario and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his wife and children in the winter of 2004. He was employed by Maxim Truck and Trailer up until the time of his illness, and always enjoyed anything to do with driving truck. In the last few years of not being able to work due to his illness, Warren was able to spend quality time at home with his wife and his boys. He was their biggest supporter in all that they did and thoroughly enjoyed the school field trips, the floor hockey and football games, and just spending time with his family. His boys meant the world to him, and he was very proud of them. Warren will be sadly missed by many people that he helped in the co-op, especially the people who relied on him for the daily Timmy's coffee run. He formed very close relationships with those around him and would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it, even if it was just a ride to 7-Eleven. Warren maintained his sense of humour and always made us laugh even if he was not having the best day himself. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and he made sure the whole world knew it. One of his happiest moments was meeting his hockey hero, Guy Lafleur and getting his picture taken with him. Warren was extremely thankful for the generous gift he was given with the lung transplant and for the short time that he was doing well he enjoyed being able to breathe deeply and freely for the first time in many years. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and transplant team at the Health Sciences Centre General Hospital for all they did to give him a chance at a new beginning, and for keeping him comfortable and treating him with dignity and respect throughout. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life was held on Monday, August 15, 2011 at The Neil Bardal Funeral Centre at 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hobbs Family Trust at any Bank of Montreal.
