GAIL DELORES EVELYN BEESTON (nee SMITH) January 26, 1945 - August 25, 2011 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mom's journey to heaven was peaceful and she is now in God's loving arms. Gail is predeceased by her loving parents, John and Evelyn Smith, brothers Alvin, Frank and Myron; sister Lynda; and Bob Buffie her special friend. Left to cherish Gail's memory are her children Scott, Steven, Jamie and Shannon, also her grandchildren Adam and Brandon. Gail's surviving siblings are Jack, Barry (Jean), Wayne (Hazel), Eddie (Joan), Glen (Jane), Vaughan (Lucy), Bill (Gloria), and numerous nieces and nephews. Gail was a courageous woman who battled many health issues over the years. She fought Breast and Kidney Cancer, had her hip replaced once, then a fall ended in another hip surgery. She suffered from Colitis and severe arthritis, chronic pain was something she always endured. But with all of her problems, she tried to maintain a good sense of humour and a positive attitude. Gail always tried to keep active. She loved Bingo (it was in her blood) and garage sales. She spent many weekends with her friend Bertha, looking for all the best deals. In her quiet times she liked to knit dish cloths and watch movies. She loved all kinds of music; her favourite artist was The King Elvis. On weekends she attended a club for seniors. She looked forward to going every week. She made many friends there. Anytime Gail was with her family was the best time of all. Christmas was always the best in the Smith-Beeston household. A Celebration of Gail's Life will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gail's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB or the Lung Association of Manitoba, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
