KATHLEEN INGEBORG BROWN Peacefully on September 29, 2011 Kay passed away at age 90. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Brown, her parents Karl and Anna Erickson, brothers Herb and Carl and sisters Annie, Klara and Gladys. Remaining to forever cherish Kay's memory are her daughter Kathy (Greg), her sister Ingrid, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Kay was born in Lac du Bonnet (Riverland) of which she had many wonderful memories. She moved to Winnipeg, then Vancouver where she eventually opened up a gift shop with life long friend Anne Scott. She then went up north with her sister Gladys where she met and married Gordie, a member of the RCMP. They settled in Fort Norman, Northwest Territories where their daughter was born. After a few transfers their last posting was in Winnipeg. Kay was confined to a wheelchair when she was 45 years old. She was a long term resident of Oakview Place Nursing Home. While life, physically was a struggle, Kay was always a very positive person. She kept very busy doing beautiful needlework, joined many activities, loved going out in the patio garden area and playing cards and dominoes. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Oakview Place. You treated her so special and she appreciated all your kind gestures. Thanks also to the friends, relatives and Oakview residents that visited regularly and kept in touch with Kay. This included her beloved sister Klara, cherished sister Ingrid, niece Kathryn (Gerry), friend Asta and Greg. She loved your visits. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Kay's wishes there will be no service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Tack för idag Mom.
