PROTACIO PURIFICACION Protacio (Tacio) Aledia Purificacion, born June 19, 1926 in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, passed peacefully, surrounded by loving family on October 20, 2011 at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was the beloved husband of Carmelita (Mely) Sapitan Purificacion for over 62 years. He was predeceased by his siblings: Intong, Cureng, Bining, Pepe and Rosie and survived by siblings: Elo, Paeng and Pitang. Tacio will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Mely, his beloved children: Domingo Purificacion (deceased) who is survived by his wife, Imelda and children: Denmark, Dommel (Erika, daughter Hayden) and Ivy; Meyette Inocencio (Mel) and their children: Marianne, May and Mylene; Edith Camandang (Benjie) and their children: BJ and Eda; Noel Purificacion and his children: Darryl and Bryce Kelsey; and Arnel Purificacion (Celia) and their children JP and Sunshine, along with other countless friends and family who were blessed to know him. Tacio was a man of few, but loving words, enjoying his time fishing, gardening, watching baseball and TFC Teleserye and spending time with family and friends. He touched the lives of many, maintaining his trademark sense of humour all the way to the end. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to the 3D step-down unit at Health Sciences Centre for all their care and support. Friends and family are invited to attend Lamay (viewing) services on Thursday, October 27, 2011 and Friday, October 28, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, R4A 2A8. Funeral service to be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Filipino United Community Church, 1039 Pritchard Ave., with Pastor Lito Rodriquez presiding.
