Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE BELLE POTTER It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Marjorie Belle Potter at 95 years. Marjorie was taken up in the arms of her Saviour on Sunday, November 5, 2011 at 2:45 a.m. Marjorie worked for the Winnipeg Free Press during the Second World War and was the stenographer who took dictation of the teletype from Winston Churchill declaring war on Germany. Marjorie loved gardening and her grandchildren, she rejoiced at each of their births. She moved out to Vernon in 2008 with her son and family at the Gold Panner Campground where she lived a new adventure! Of gold panning and sitting in the rocking chair with cowboy hat welcoming guests. She had the most loving, caring people at home as well as at the Polson Place. These folks were beyond excellent. Many of the staff stayed on past their shifts to hold her hand in her passing. Marjorie was loved by all and brought joy to everyone that new her. Marjorie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her son John (Rick) Potter and wife Marilyn; grandchildren Mathew and Steve (Melanie) Potter; great-grandchildren Joshua, Jasmine and Janelle Potter, and numerous friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Cyril (Bud) Potter in 1993 and her brother Gordon Tanner in 1989 from Hampshire, England. In keeping with Marjorie's wishes a graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
