JOHN BECENKO Peacefully, on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Seven Oaks Hospital, John Becenko passed away at the age of 82 years. John was predeceased by his parents Pauline and Andrew Becenko, two sisters Jean (Gil) Leveque, Mary (Angus) McRitchie. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Gertrude, and their children: Gordon (Susan), Cynthia, grandchildren: Kent (Amanda), Ryan, Frankie, Johnny, Amy, Timmy, Jeffrey Fashauner, great-grandchildren: Madyson, Shayla, Frankie, Precious, Jennel. He worked for 40 years at Burns Foods. John retired at the age of 62 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church where he was involved with the Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, and St. Peter's Friendly Neighbors Club. He played baseball in Kildonan Seniors Slow Pitch. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street with Msgr. Sampson celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the parish hall following the mass. Rite of Committal will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to Emile Paul for your loving care and support given to Gertrude and John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to CancerCare Manitoba, or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
