GERALD NORMAN (JERRY) BECKMAN October 26, 1934 December 2, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jerry Beckman, beloved husband and father at the age of 77 this past Friday, at the St. Boniface Hospital. A complete obituary will follow.

GERALD NORMAN (JERRY) BECKMAN October 26, 1934 - December 2, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our loving father and husband. He left this world peacefully with his family by his side. Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Olga (Malenko), as well as his sons Gary, Dean (Jumi) and Brent. He also leaves to mourn his brothers Norman (Theresa) and Gordon (Dianne), his sisters Shirley (Ed), and Marlene, and brother-in-law Armand Guilbault. Others left behind are his sister-in-law Verna and brother-in-law Norman Harrison, who was also his lifelong best friend, as well as his sisters-in-law Mary and Betty (Cliff) not to mention all his nieces, nephews and countless number of friends. He will be dearly missed by all those he left behind. He was predeceased by his mother, Lena, father, Charlie, and sisters Jean and Loretta. Jerry was born in Lampman, SK, and grew up in Woodridge, MB before moving to Winnipeg when he began his 42 years of service with Canada Packers. He spent the last three years of his working life with LaFarge Concrete. Few things he enjoyed more in life than a hard days work. He spent his time in retirement building this and fixing that. Many saw Dad as a big and strong man, but those who knew him best also saw a kind, gentle and humourous man with a loving soul. He enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life and cherished all the friendships he forged throughout his life. We would like to offer a special thank you to the Harrison family for all the love and support they have given us during this difficult time as well as to the supportive staff at St. Boniface Hospital. To fulfill Dad's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
