RENE ROY With the same dignity and gentleness with which he lived his life, Rene Roy, at the age of 80, passed away on December 11, 2011, with his children by his side. Rene was preceded by his wife, Sally (Solange Dupas), April 1, 2001. Left to mourn his passing are his children, Lise Hercina (Brad), Ross (Shelley) and Denis (Sandy). Pepere cherished his five grandchildren, Chantelle and Kaitlyn Hercina, Danielle and Jayson Roy and Christopher Roy. He taught the children strong values and the beauty of nature. Rene is survived by brothers, sisters, many friends, nieces and nephews: Al Roy (Tillie), Theodore Roy (Kathy), Gilbert Roy, Yvette. Sisters-in-law, Margaret and Valerie Roy. Predeceased are Alfred Roy, Gerry Roy, Yvonne Gauthier. Dad was a sport enthusiast that included watching the Edmonton Eskimos, golfing, curling, ping pong, pool table and most of all, fishing. Dad was an inspiration for his entire family and an outstanding contributor to the community of Deloraine. We thank the staff at the Lodge in Deloraine for the exceptional care in the past year. He definitely touched many hearts and had a twinkle in his eye for each one of them. A celebration of Rene's life will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Deloraine St. Antoninus Catholic Church.
