Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We played high school ball and shared some great moments together during that time. I was fortunate enough to spend a week in Dallas with Dan before he headed out on his business trip to Thailand 17 years ago. During his stay at my apartment for a few nights, he was concerned about my social life and demanded we went out to a country bar. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dan knew he was very persuasive. Long story short I met my daughters' mom that night and now thanks to Dan's pushiness to get out of the house I have a beautiful 16-year-old girl. It's hard for me to process but I think of him all the time. Everyone looked up to Dan and it's hard to believe he's not here with us anymore but I know I see him again. - Posted by: Taylor Bracken (Teammate and friend) on: May 29, 2019

  • Worked with Dan on the trading floor of the Montreal exchange. Immediately liked the person he was. I remember when he started he had to do an exam to be able to work on the trading floor. He passed with 98% which was considered almost impossible. Immediately the exchange authority thought he must have cheated. They decided to refuse his results and forced him to take the exam again, with harder questions and an exchange surveillance officer sitting right next to him in the exam room. He again posted 97% result. The surveillance officer is still to this day a friend of mine and told me how impressed he was with Dan. Brawn and brains in one package, will never forget him. Remember the good times. John - Posted by: john kritikos (Worked at Montreal Exchange with Dan in the late 1990's) on: May 11, 2012
