OLIVE SKINNER 1918 - 2011 Olive passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at her home in Misericordia Place on December 16, 2011. Olive was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2009, and sons Neil and Alan. Left to cherish fond memories of our mom and grandma are, daughter Janet and grandson Michael, son David, daughter-in-law Lori, granddaughters Carly and Krista, son Paul, daughter-in-law Marilyne, granddaughters Leah and Kelly, great grandchildren Jocelyn, Austin, Chloe, daughters-in-law Ev and her children Darren and Tammy and Judy and her family. Olive was born in Winnipeg in 1918 residing on Balmoral St. She and Jack were married on New Year's Day in 1941 and celebrated 68 years together. They lived in their home in Fort Garry until 2009. Mom had many dear life long friends, in particular the Bridge Club girls, most of whom she had known since the age of six. Mom loved to go for drives to see the countryside and she and Dad toured the UK, Spain, Portugal and in the later years rural towns just outside the city for lunch. In the last couple of years she eagerly awaited her Sunday afternoon drives with a stop for ice cream. A celebration of Olive's life will be held on Wednesday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.   • Grandmi was the type of woman who had mischief in her eyes and a smile in her heart. Holidays were never a small thing and we always spent them together as a family. She had an amazing sense of humor, and I believe passed that on to her children. She always had a little something to give you when you left.. weather it was a pair of her earrings or a shirt or something she had seen somewhere and thought you might like. I miss her.
