JANICE MARGARET DUCHARME Peacefully, on Thursday, January 5, 2011, Janice Ducharme, of Hillside Beach Manitoba, passed away with her family at her side. Janice is survived by her sons, Jason and Jared; daughter, Jade (Jim Bowering); grandchildren, Justin, Chayden, Devon, Faith, Kianna, Trenton, Kaylee, Tyler, Bailey, Sky-Leigh, and Dylan. She is also survived by her sister, Doreen Acres, and brother Tom Acres (Phyllis). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Janice was predeceased by her first husband, William Roy Ducharme; her second husband, Lewis Udow; and granddaughter Rose. Janice worked for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for 45 years. She was also active in the labour movement. Janice loved to travel to new places; many summers were spent camping. After retirement, she settled into her lake house, where she spent a lot of time growing her roses and just enjoying the peacefulness. Janice also loved spending time with her family and always enjoyed having her grandchildren visit during the summer months. Cremation has taken place; no formal service. Gathering of friends and family will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, located at 117 Regent Avenue East in Transcona, on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. If you wish, donations may be made to the NDP.
