MARJORIE IRELAND November 1, 1930 - January 6, 2012 It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful and loving Mother and Grandmother, Marjorie Ireland. She was surrounded with the love of her family in the comfort of her home. Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, many nieces, nephews, and all their spouses, and her lifelong friend Vickie. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, and her parents Leontina and Valentine Kauk. Mom worked the kitchen of the old A W Transcona and Dal's for many years, and then as a nurse's aide at Tache Nursing Home. She loved to cook and bake, and we enjoyed all her incredible food and appreciated the effort she took in making things special for us. Mom loved vacation time at Star Lake, and had 42 years of wonderful family memories. Special thanks to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their daily visits with Mom. Thank you for all your help, your caring and compassion that enabled us to care for Mom at home. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 13 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Best times ever when Marge (Martha) was cooking at Star Lake. We would always be invited to sample the cooking and if we couldn't make it over a hot dish to sample would come our way. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. We miss you. Our sincere condolences to all of your family. - Posted by: Bert and Deb denOuden (Top of the hill gang @ Star Lake) on: Jan 13, 2012

  • I grew up with Margie we were very good friends. We shared the same Grandparents & spent a lot of time there eating our Grandmother's goodies. We were surrounded by relatives & also by love. Margie was loved by all & will be sadly missed. Sad to say I live so far away in Nova Scotia & just saw my relatives upon my return to Wpg. on visits. My prayers & heart go out to Margie's family. I will be there in spirit. I love you Margie. Eadie - Posted by: Eadie Murphy (Cousin/friend) on: Jan 11, 2012
