JOSEPH (JOE) MICHAEL WHITMAN 1925 - 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend on January 13, 2012, at his residence, at the age of 86 years. Joe was predeceased by his loving parents, Alphonse and Christine Champagne, and brothers, Roy and Omer. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Theresa and Bernice, and brother Georges (Greta) with whom he had a particularly close and loving bond. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Joe will be lovingly remembered for his ready smile when he saw his family, his laughter and gentle ways. Joe was an industrious person who was employed at Versatech Industries for several years, he will be sadly missed by his co-workers and all who knew him. Community activities was something Joe cherished, he especially liked bowling and he was very proud of his many trophies. He treasured happy times at family gatherings, watching war shows on television with his brother Georges, going for drives and seeing the beautiful Christmas lights. A funeral service celebrating Joseph's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. A private burial will take place at a later date.
