Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD THORGILS OLIVER June 24, 1933 - January 24, 2012 Peacefully on January 24, 2012 Len passed away in the comfort of his own home. Len is survived by his loving wife Jean, son Larry (Darlene), daughter Wendy (John), and his two grandchildren Ky and Sharayah. Len was a long time resident of Transcona and worked for the C.N.R. for 38 years. He was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces serving from 1961 to 1977, he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #7 for 42 years. The Boss was a skilled handyman, ready to tackle any project and was always there to lend a helping hand (and advice ). He loved coaching his son's little league baseball team and spent many years at his cottage in Grand Beach. Later in life he spent many happy hours at Tinkertown and the Go Cart Track with his grandchildren, squeezing in bus trips to the casinos. To honour Len's wishes there will be no service. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Valerie, Pauline and the nurses from the Concordia Oncology Clinic as well as Colleen and staff from Homecare. Special thanks to Richard Koyar and Dr. Ted St. Godard from the Palliative Care Program for their care and support during Len's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Len's name to Colon Cancer Canada or a charity of one's choice. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVE.
