Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY BADER With sadness in our hearts and tears in our eyes, we announce the passing of Stanley Earle Bader on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. With his wife Irene and his entire family by his side, Stan slipped away peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father. He will be very sadly missed and will remain forever in our hearts and in our memories Stanley was born in Winnipeg on December 6, 1925. He attended school in Winnipeg and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba. Stanley was an employee of Canada Packer's, as a Chemist in the Edible Oils division from 1946 to 1988. After his retirement, he continued to do consulting work in his field. Ever the intrepid explorer Stanley traveled the globe visiting many destinations throughout the world. Some of his recent trips were to countries in the Mediterranean. His visits included Athens, Barcelona, an extended trip to Australia with his son Danny, Florence, Istanbul, Venice, Pompei, Rome, just to name a few. Stan was an avid sports enthusiast and loved participating and watching most professional sporting events, particularly CFL and NFL Football. He could report all the game results including scores highlights and big plays after every weekend. Stan also curled for many years at the Granite Curling Club and spent many hours exercising at the Refit on Taylor Ave. No one will ever know of a more kind and gentle man. He never failed to find the good in people and never spoke an ill word about anyone. His knowledge was extremely broad as he could converse with anyone on any subject. That is why Stan had so many friends. People always seemed to gravitate to him. He married Irene in 1984 and they enjoyed 27 happy years together. They traveled everywhere together and were lifelong companions. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart, and they loved him in return. He had a special bond with each of them and they will all miss their grampa dearly. Stanley was predeceased by his first wife Collette on March 17, 1982; his parents Susan and Elmer Bader; and his brothers George and Roy. He leaves to mourn his wife Irene; children Pat and husband Jim Burns, Danny Bader, Carole Geddes, Rob Chimilar and wife Darlene, Darlene Chimilar, David Chimilar; grandchildren Robert, Kristian, Kevin, Chelsea, Andrew and Elizabeth, Andrea and Evan; his sister June of Guelph, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews. Friendship with Irene & Joyce goes back to Pre-School. Irene & Joyce started at Canada Packers the same month. Years later Joyce married Don and Irene found her true love in Stan. Stan was a very caring man. Both Stan & Irene visited Joyce's and Gordon's parents in a retirement facility on a regular basis, as we lived too far away in the U.S.A. We are forever thankful to Marvelous Stan for embracing Irene's friends. He was constant in his giving. Was always a joy to visit them or to have both in our U.S.A homes. His passing has left a hole in our lives. We grieve with Irene, their children and friends. Joyce & Don Harper - Posted by: Don and Joyce Harper (friends for many years) on: Feb 29, 2012

There will never be another person like Stan Bader. He was so kind and reminded us so much of his wonderful dad, Elmer. We just heard about his passing today, and this news saddens us deeply. Even though years have passed and cards have been sent, my mom remembers fondly the good ol' days while visiting Canada with Stan. Those will always be close to her heart. She speaks of those days many times. Irene, you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. So very sorry that sweet Stan has been taken away. Keep those precious memories close as they will get you through the tough times. Our sympathy and prayers are with you sweetheart. Stan will be very missed by so many people that his kindness and sweet demeanor touched. God Bless and hugs for strength and heartfelt sympathy.
