Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN KERNATZ January 12, 1928 January 27, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of John Kernatz announces his passing on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the age of 84 years. John was born in Winnipeg in 1928 and grew up in Transcona. He played football in High School and spent his leisure time vacationing at Winnipeg Beach, golfing, and he was an avid sports fan. John spent his life working for the Canadian National Railway as a conductor and brakeman. He worked out of Winnipeg for the majority of his career with ten years out of Melville, Saskatchewan. John made many friends during his long career with the CN and eventually retired in Winnipeg. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 23 years, Wilma Galbraith and step-daughter Sheena (Bruce) Henkel and grandchildren Sheldon, Justin and Jordan. John will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his daughters, Lyn Kernaz and Kim (Garnet) Dixon and his eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and his dearest friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Kernaz, sons Bill Kernaz and Ward Kernaz, sister Lee Theman, and grandson Erin Jeffery. John will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
