MARILYN JULIA KATHERINE MCCLINTOCK February 11, 1962 February 19, 2012 Surrounded by her family and loved ones, Marilyn Julia Katherine McClintock (nee Mayer) passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Ken, children Kyle (Stephanie) and Kaila (Chad), grandchildren, Kia, Teaira, Kaidan, Nevaeh and Cole, sisters; Ethel (Garfield), Rose, Ethel (Brian), Lorraine, Carrie (Mike), Pam (Jeff), Maxine (Wyatt), brothers; Nelson (Ella) and John (Shelley), mother-in-law Lorraine and in-laws; Cindy (John), Elaine (David), Ed (Anne) and numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her father Narcisse, mother Dora, brother Armand and father-in-law Gordon. Marilyn was born and raised in Winnipeg and as a young girl enjoyed tap dancing, baton twirling and bowling. In her late teens, she moved to The Pas, Manitoba where she worked at MacLeods and met her soul mate and love of her life Ken, whom she married on December 3, 1983 in Osoyoos, BC. Marilyn and Ken lived in many cities throughout western Canada and were blessed with two beautiful children, and moved to Swan River, MB to raise their family. She was very proud of her children and some of her fondest memories were her daughter Kaila's wedding and son Kyle's University graduation. Marilyn was an excellent cook, she worked as a supervisor and cook at: Denny's, KFC, A W, Swan Valley Personal Care Home and Smitty's until she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Marilyn loved to travel, some of her most memorable trips were going to Walt Disney World many times with her family and siblings, staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with Ken, sister Carrie and her husband Mike, a road trip across the western United States to Alcatraz, Las Vegas and Disneyland with her brother John and his wife Shelley, going on a Bahamas cruise with Ken and her siblings as well as a camping trip to Drumheller with her sisters, nieces and nephew. Marilyn loved Disney and spent her 45th birthday at Magic Kingdom and met Cinderella, her favourite princess. Marilyn was affectionately referred to as our own Princess and became the true Cinderella in her family's eyes because of her never ending kindness and purity of heart. These princess qualities shone through in her brave struggle against breast cancer and despite her pain, she continued to put everyone else's well being ahead of her own. Her home was always open to friends and family and she made sure that no one left her home hungry. Although she is gone, her beautiful smile is engraved in our hearts forever. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Brandes, Maya, the staff at CancerCare MB and the exceptional staff at St. Boniface hospital. From time to time, I have wondered what happened to Marilyn. I met Marilyn in Junior high school. At first we did not get along but that slowly changed. What I remembered and respected about Marilyn was her genuine honesty and her acceptance of those of us who were different. When we both found out we shared the same birthday February 11, neither one of us could believe it. We began to refer to each other as "February 11 Girl". A true Aquarius Marilyn was, she marched to the beat of her own drum. A beautiful butterfly Marilyn was and will always be. - Posted by: Garolyn J (School friend) on: Mar 29, 2022

Missing you little sister. I think of you every day and remember your smile, your laugh, your sense of humour and your love and friendship. You were far too young to be taken from us and each day is difficult without you. I still pick up the phone to call you and then realize you're not there physically so I talk to you in spirit. Love you. - Posted by: Carrie Still (sister) on: Feb 19, 2014

My sister, my best friend. I held your hand when we were young and held your hand when you found peace. I will never squeeze your hand again but the bond we shared will stay in my heart forever. You are the true Princess; kind, considerate, generous and beautiful. Princesses are timeless and never age as is your memory - timeless and ageless. You will live on in our hearts forever.
