CLARENCE GLEN LAVERNE MATHEWS February 10, 1938 - February 25, 2012 It is with deep sadness that the family of Clarence Mathews announces his sudden passing on Saturday, February 25, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Gale, of 53 years; son Glenn (Kim); grandchildren, Danielle Lyons (Mike), Meagan Mathews (Bryan), and Riley Mathews; four great-grandchildren; sisters Alice and Eleanor; brothers Ken (Bonny) and Brian (Terry); brother-in-law Wayne; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his son Gary, mother Christine, father Glen and stepfather Sid, sister Hazel and brother Donald. Clarence served proudly in the Armed Forces for over 30 years and then as driver for civil service. He retired in 2002. Clarence enjoyed his morning coffee at Timmy's with his buddies, woodworking, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all of their events. He also enjoyed his trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, all across Canada and his cross border trips for a little gambling. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Glenn Lawn Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
