VALERIE LYNNE BEATTY (nee KJERNISTED) It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Valerie on Saturday, March 3, 2012, after a courageous and valiant struggle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory forever are her loving husband Sandy, sons Paul (Kim), Mark (Margo), grandchildren Sarah, Rhys, Mackenzie and Grace. Valerie was predeceased by her father Cliff and will be sadly missed by her mother Lillian, her sisters Janice (Brian), Joy (Don) and brother Lorne (Susan). Her many nieces and a nephew will also feel and share the loss, as will her mother-in-law Louise. Valerie was a very sweet-natured, kind and gentle-hearted lady who loved her family and friends deeply. She was the type of person who always put others ahead of herself. She had a beautiful, radiant smile and a cheerful, quiet manner that was endearing to everyone. Valerie grew up in St. Vital, married her high school sweetheart and was a very accomplished elementary school teacher. She took great pride in her work and strove to do her best. Later in her career, she graduated from the University of Manitoba with her degree in education. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, appreciated mother-in-law and a very caring grandmother. She enjoyed painting, gardening and designed beautiful special occasion cards. Valerie loved to travel, especially the long road trips to most of North America's finest natural wonders. She found her paradise in South Carolina with Sandy, spending several wonderful warm winters in Myrtle Beach. At her insistence, there will be no formal funeral service. A family dinner gathering was her wish and plans will be made to carry out that wish. Those of us who knew her and shared her love feel truly blessed. She will be forever missed and will always be on our mind. In lieu of flowers, donations to one's charity of choice would be preferred. Bless you Valerie.
